Several members of the ChIRP Lab team attended and presented their work at the 2025 SAVIR Annual Conference in New York City April 7th-9th. The Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR) is the leading organization promoting excellence in research related to injury and violence prevention. The Annual Conference brings together leaders to showcase their work, build new partnerships, advance the field. This year, the ChIRP Lab and UI Injury Prevention Research Center (IPRC) affiliates presented on several projects. 

SAVIR Conference Highlights

Research Assistant Ella Mucciolo presented a poster titled "Enhancing Teen Driver Hazard Anticipation: A Parent-Focused Intervention." Ella's poster was recognized as an award finalist. Ella also presented on this work in a student "Flash Science" session.

Research Assistant Isabel Thomas presented a poster titled "Uncovering Gaps in Parent's Approach to Training Teens' Hazard Anticipation Skills Through Thematic Analysis."

Research Assistant Stepahnie Jansson presented a poster titled "Written Warnings versus Citations for Younger Drivers: A Relation to Future Crash Culpability."

Elizabeth O'Neal (PhD) was recognized with the 2025 SAVIR Outstanding Service Award. O'Neal played a major role in making the 2025 Annual Conference a reality.
